Paris, the eternal capital of love, croissants and belle époque architecture. From Vilnius to the Eiffel Tower is just a couple of hours of flying, but the ticket price can swing from 60 to 300 euros depending on when, how and with whom you travel. In this guide, how to find that cheapest option.
Airlines connecting Lithuania and Paris
- airBaltic, operates direct flights from Vilnius (VNO) to Charles de Gaulle (CDG) several times a week. Tickets start at 79 euros one way, and Business Class is good value for affordable business trips.
- Ryanair, flies from Kaunas (KUN) to Beauvais (BVA), a smaller airport 85 km outside Paris. Tickets sometimes drop to €19.99 one way during sales.
- Wizz Air, offers flights from Vilnius to Beauvais. If you don't want to pay for checked baggage, the Wizz personal item (40x30x20 cm) is free.
- Air France, the premium option via CDG with a transfer in Brussels or Amsterdam. Pricier (from 180 euros), but with checked baggage and meals included.
- LOT Polish Airlines, connecting flights via Warsaw. A good option if you want to choose Orly (ORY).
Which Paris airport to choose?
- Charles de Gaulle (CDG), the largest, 25 km north-east of the centre. The RER B train to Châtelet costs €11.80 and takes 35 min. Convenient for international connections.
- Orly (ORY), 13 km to the south. Since 2024 the new metro line 14 has been running, getting you to the centre in 25 min for €10.30.
- Beauvais (BVA), actually not in Paris but 85 km away. The bus to Porte Maillot is 17 euros and takes 1 h 15 min. Count on 34 euros and 2.5 hours of round-trip travel, that often "eats up" the ticket savings.
Seasonal price trends
- January-February, the cheapest time. Tickets from 60 euros return, hotels also 30-40 % cheaper. Damp weather, but the city without tourist crowds.
- April-May, popular spring season. Prices climb to 120-180 euros, especially around Easter.
- July-August, peak. Tickets 200-300 euros, many smaller restaurants are even closed (the French go on holiday).
- September-October, the "golden balance". Warm but not hot, prices drop to 90-140 euros. The best time for a first visit.
- November-December, cheaper again, but in mid-December the Christmas markets push prices back up.
Weekend vs weekday flights
Standard rule: Friday evenings and Sunday evenings tickets are 30-50 % more expensive than midweek. If you're flexible, fly Tuesday or Wednesday. Another trick: if you're going for the weekend, start the trip on Thursday evening and return Monday morning, this avoids the peak and you don't lose much work time.
How to save even more
- Book 7-9 weeks in advance, for Paris this is the optimal "golden window".
- Combine carriers, e.g. into Paris with airBaltic (CDG), back with Ryanair (BVA). Often cheaper than a single full route.
- Watch sales, Ryanair's "Black Friday" (end of November) and Wizz Air's February campaigns often knock prices down to €9.99.
- Navigo Easy card, instead of single tickets, buy the card for 2 euros and load 10 metro tickets for €16.90, you save 10 % on transport.
A typical trip from Lithuania to Paris is 80-200 euros return. On Windly search you'll see all three airports for different dates at once, saving you hours of comparing them yourself.
